Your details, and what we do with them.
We only ask for what we need to reply to you, and we only use it for that. This notice explains how, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Who we are
Polus is a small web design agency in South Africa. You can reach us, and our information officer, at hello@polus.co.za.
What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number and current website if you add them, what you're looking for, and anything else you choose to write.
This website doesn't use cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics. To learn which parts of the site are useful, it counts anonymous interactions, for example how many visits reach the pricing screen or open the form, and which kind of site a visit came from (such as Instagram or Google). These are daily totals only: they contain no IP address, no cookie and nothing that identifies you or your device. If your browser asks sites not to track you, we don't count your visit at all.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry and, if you'd like, to talk through your website and send you a proposal. We use it because you ask us to and tick the box agreeing to it. We don't use it for marketing and we never sell or share it.
How it's handled
When you press send, the form emails your details straight to our inbox. This website doesn't keep a copy or store them in a database. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which carries the email and may process it outside South Africa under its own data protection terms. Only the Polus team reads enquiries.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@polus.co.za and we'll respond promptly. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator.
